Industries – machine tools, agricultural machinery, textiles, mineral products, foodstuffs, amber jewellery.
There has been a gradual shift towards knowledge economy – bio-technology, laser equipment, IT and mechatronics (meaning the combining of aspects of engineering - mechanical, electronic, computer, control engineering and systems design).
