Ethnic groups: Greece does not collect data on ethnicity.   In the 2001 census  93% of the population was termed Greek, 7% other (i.e. foreign citizens).  Earlier, in the 1970s, there were complaints that ethnic Macedonians (Slav-speaking) and Turks had been the subject of human rights abuses.

Religion: There are no official figures but it is estimated 97% identify themselves as Greek Orthodox.
